Emo is a style of rock music that is normally characterized by good music and confessional lyrics. Though it has evolved in the mid 1980s when hardcore punk movement was on the rise in the United States of America, it has been revolutionize and still has its own identity in the society. With so many ways to spread the emo culture, youth and teenagers were drawn to this class of rock music and the trend of emo was on the rise.

However, lately there has been a lot of criticism and news about emo scene, where many deaths and suicide cases have been registered. It is claimed that the victims had killed themselves under the influence of emo culture that romanticizes death and alienation and depression. Many countries like Russia, Mexico and UK witnessed anti-emo bashings and violence and anti-emo groups have come up on internet asking people to support them and ban emo. Many forums, chat groups, and discussion boards are also been developed on internet where people protest against the emo culture and the social problem related to it.
